Dressage scoring software

Score the whole dressage day, from the draw to the placings

Judges score on a tablet, with or without signal. Panels, technical faults, freestyles and tie-breaks are worked out for you, and riders see their results on their phones as the sheets come in.

Dressage scoring is included on every plan, from $10 a year inc GST.

A judge's assigned dressage score sheets: each rider and horse with the test, the judge and letter, bridle number, draw, the sheet's status and its percentage, with buttons to open the sheet or download its PDF.

How a dressage day runs on Horsify

Tests, set up once

Each test carries its movements, coefficients, collective marks and its error-of-course rule (Equestrian Australia's marks off, or the FEI's percentage points), and is reused at every event. Freestyles total their technical and artistic marks apart.

The draw and the score sheets

Publish the running order with ride times and bridle numbers, then create every ride's score sheets in one step: one for each judge on the ring's panel, with their letter (E, H, C and so on).

The judge scores on a tablet

Marks, remarks written with a pen and the judge's signature go on the sheet as the test is ridden, and the percentage is worked out as each mark goes in. Technical faults take 0.5 percentage points each off that judge's result.

No signal at the arena

On the Horsify app a judge downloads the day's sheets, scores with no connection at all, and sends them when the signal is back.

Placed by the rules

A ride is placed only when its whole panel has submitted, on the panel's mean. A tie for a top-three place goes to the higher collective marks, then the rider mark (EA rule 3.19); further down the order, a tie is shared.

Everything after the last ride

Every sheet prints as a PDF for the rider, the results export as a CSV, and western and para dressage run on the same sheets.

Results riders can read before they untack

Each class is placed as its sheets are submitted, ties broken by the rules, and the public results board shows it. You choose whether provisional scores are public, for riders only or for the office only, and each rider is told once when their result is in. Riders are named by first name and initial.

Questions dressage clubs ask

Does Horsify place dressage classes by Equestrian Australia's rules?

Yes. A tie for first, second or third goes to the higher total of the collective marks, coefficients included, then to the rider mark, as EA National Dressage Rules 3.19 says; a freestyle is split on its artistic marks. From fourth place down, a tie is shared.

Can we score with a panel of judges?

Yes. Each ring holds its judging panel, every judge gets a sheet for every ride with their letter, and a ride is placed on the panel's mean only once every judge on it has submitted, so a part-scored ride never shows a placing that then moves.

What if there is no phone signal at the arena?

Judges can score on the Horsify app with no connection: the day's sheets are downloaded beforehand and sent once the signal is back.

Does it handle technical faults and freestyles?

Yes. Technical faults are counted on the sheet and take 0.5 percentage points each off that judge's result. A freestyle totals its technical and artistic marks separately, and a time fault comes off the artistic percentage.

Can riders see their results straight away?

Yes. Results are placed as the sheets come in and shown on the event's public results board, and each rider is told once when their result is in. You choose whether provisional scores are public, shown to riders only, or kept for the office until they are final.

Can we still use paper score sheets?

Yes. Score sheets print as PDFs, and on Club Site Premium, PaperSync reads scanned paper sheets back into the results for the office to check.

What does it cost?

Dressage scoring is part of every plan, from $10 a year inc GST for a club of up to 100 members, with unlimited events. Online payments cost 2.5% + 30c per transaction, all-in — Stripe's card processing is included rather than added on top. Domestic cards; international cards cost more to process. Or, on the Riding School and Club Site Premium plans, connect your own Stripe account and Horsify takes nothing per transaction — you keep your own Stripe rates and your own payout schedule.
